Alka-Seltzer Original effervescent tablets combine aspirin and an antacid in one easy-to-take form. They are made to relieve heartburn that comes with pain, and to neutralise stomach acid for quick relief of acid indigestion. The aspirin also provides fast relief of pain symptoms including headaches, back pain, muscle pain and body pain.
Drop two tablets into water, let them fizz and drink. The medicine is in the water, so you do not need to drink any residue left at the bottom of the glass. The pack contains 36 individual sachets, making it easy to keep relief within reach at home or when travelling.

How to Use
Fully dissolve 2 tablets in 4 ounces of water before taking. Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 tablets every 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor, do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. Adults 60 years and over: 2 tablets every 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor, do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours. Children under 12 years: consult a doctor.
Tip: Keep the sachets with you so you can dissolve two tablets in water whenever heartburn with pain symptoms strikes.
Good to Know+
- Reye's syndrome: Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu-like symptoms should not use this product. If changes in behaviour with nausea and vomiting occur, consult a doctor because these symptoms could be an early sign of Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
- Allergy alert: Aspirin may cause a severe allergic reaction which may include hives, facial swelling, asthma (wheezing) or shock.
- Stomach bleeding warning: This product contains an NSAID, which may cause severe stomach bleeding.
