Mak Menthol Crystals are a waxy, crystalline menthol sourced from mint, supplied in a resealable food-grade aluminium bag. They are made for aromatherapy and home spa use, letting you add a menthol note to a steam room, dry sauna or oil warmer, or melt them into warmed mineral oil for a bath oil or a balm for sore muscles. They are also suited to DIY projects such as lotions, shampoos, salves, foot sprays and candles, and can be used in beehives.

The crystals are solid at room temperature and melt just above it, so they are easy to portion and blend. They mix well with basil, eucalyptus, geranium, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemon, myrrh, pine, rosemary, spearmint, tea tree and wintergreen. Suitable for all skin types when properly diluted, and intended for adults.

How to Use

Place the crystals in a bowl in a steam room or oil warmer, or melt them in warmed mineral oil for baths or balms. For sore muscles or tension headaches, apply the melted crystals or balm. To create a menthol-infused vapour, add crystals to boiling water and inhale the vapours, draping a towel around your head to direct them. Always do a patch test before applying in large amounts and avoid use with homeopathic remedies.

Tip: Melt the crystals in warmed mineral oil, then let the oil cool to use as a balm for sore muscles.
